Tone Checker

Your text never leaves your browser — the analysis runs entirely on your device.

How the Tone Checker Works

Paste any passage — an email, an essay paragraph, a story excerpt — and the checker compares it against the word banks of every tone in our dictionary. Each match adds weight to that tone, and the strongest tones are ranked with the exact words that triggered them. Click any detected tone to read its full dictionary entry.

Tips for Better Results

  • Use at least a full paragraph — short snippets rarely contain enough tone-bearing words.
  • Analyze one voice at a time; mixing authors or sections blurs the signal.
  • The checker matches words, not meaning — it cannot detect sarcasm or irony that relies purely on context.
